Surah Anbiya in English Meaning

Surah Anbiya is a significant chapter in the Quran, named after the prophets, as it mentions 16 noble prophets: Musa (A.S.), Harun (A.S.), Ibrahim (A.S.), Lut (A.S.), Ishaq (A.S.), Yaqub (A.S.), Nuh (A.S.), Dawood (A.S.), Sulaiman (A.S.), Ayyub (A.S.), Idris (A.S.), Dhul-Kifl (A.S.), Yunus (A.S.), Zakariyya (A.S.), and Yahya (A.S.).

Surah Al-Anbiya, meaning “The Prophets,” is the 21st chapter of the Quran. It is believed to have been revealed in Mecca during the third phase of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life. This Surah is considered one of the early Meccan revelations.

Surah Anbiya deals with the conflict between the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the leaders of Makkah, who rejected his message. It responds to their doubts about his Prophethood and the key teachings of Tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and the Hereafter. The Makkans are warned about the consequences of their opposition and urged to take the Prophet’s message seriously.
