Dua for Allah’s mercy on the Day of Judgement

Dua for Allah's mercy on the Day of Judgement

In Islam, the Day of Judgment, known as Yawm ad-Din, is a central belief. It is the day when Allah will resurrect all human beings and judge them based on their deeds in this world. Muslims believe that everyone, both Muslims and non-Muslims, will be judged for their actions, whether good or bad.

Dua for Allah’s mercy on the Day of Judgement is a cry from the heart, seeking the boundless mercy of Allah to shield us from our flaws and shortcomings, and to grant us eternal peace and favor.

Dua for Allah’s mercy on the Day of Judgement

اَللّٰهُمَّ حَاسِبْنِيْ حِسَابًا يَّسِيْرًا

Allahumma haasibni hisabay yasira

O Allah, grant me an easy (or a lenient) account.

Aisha reported: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say in some of his prayers, “O Allah, bring me to account with an easy reckoning.”

Musnad Aḥmad 24215

Dua for Asking Mercy

آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina ’adhaban-naar

“Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ

Allahumma inni as’alukal-‘afwa wal-‘afiyah fid-dunya wal-akhirah

O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and in the Hereafter.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِن ضِيقِ الدُّنْيَا وَضِيقِ يَوْمِ القِيَامَةِ

Allahumma inni a’uzubika min dhiqid dunya wa dzhiiqi yaumal-qiyaamati.

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the difficulties of this world and the difficulties of the Day of Resurrection.”

Key aspects of the Day of Judgment in Islam include:

1. Resurrection: All humans who have died will be resurrected. The angel Israfil will blow a trumpet signaling the end of the world, and all the dead will rise to stand before Allah.

2. Judgment: Each person will be given a book of deeds that records their lifetime actions. Those who receive their book in their right hand will enter Heaven (Jannah), while those who receive it in their left hand will enter Hell (Jahannam).

3. Scales of Justice: A set of scales will weigh each person’s good deeds against their bad deeds. If their good deeds outweigh the bad, they will be rewarded with paradise. If the bad deeds are heavier, they will be punished.

4. Forgiveness and Mercy: Muslims believe in Allah’s mercy, and they can seek forgiveness for their sins before the Day of Judgment. Intention behind actions also plays a crucial role—good intentions can still earn reward even if the outcome is not successful.

The concept of Yawm ad-Din encourages Muslims to live responsibly and morally, striving for good deeds and seeking Allah’s forgiveness.

Benefits of Reciting These Duas:

1. Easy Judgment: By reciting “Allahumma haasibni hisabay yasira,” you ask Allah to make your judgment on the Day of Judgment easy and light.

2. Mercy in Both Lives: The dua “Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina ’adhaban-naar” asks for blessings and goodness in both this life and the Hereafter, as well as protection from Hellfire.

3. Forgiveness: The dua “Allahumma inni as’alukal-‘afwa wal-‘afiyah fid-dunya wal-akhirah” seeks forgiveness from Allah, helping to clear sins and mistakes.

4. Protection from Punishment: These duas protect you from the punishment of Hellfire by asking for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.

5. Well-being: You ask Allah for good health and safety in this world and in the Hereafter, ensuring a peaceful life and a smooth path to paradise.

6. Closer to Allah: Reciting these duas strengthens your connection with Allah and helps you live a life pleasing to Him.
