Benefits of Surah Bayyinah in English | Transliteration
Surah Bayyinah or The Evidence (Arabic: البينة, al-bayyinah, aka “The Clear Proof”) is the 98th Chapter (surah) of the Qur’an, with 8 ayat or verses. The Surah is so designated after the word Al-bayyinah repeating at the end of the first and fourth verses.
Benefits of Surah Bayyinah in English | Transliteration
1. Protection of Faith and Life: If you recite the Surah at night, angels will protect your religion and life, and they will ask Allah for forgiveness and mercy for you.
2. Big Rewards: If you recite it during the day, you will be rewarded for everything that happens during the day and night.
3. Understanding Truth: The Surah helps you understand that people sometimes reject the truth when it doesn’t suit them, reminding you to follow the clear truth of Islam.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm | “In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.” |
لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَةُ | Lam yakuni-lladhina kafarū min ahli-l-kitābi wal-mushrikīna munfakkīna ḥatta ta’tīahumu-l-bayyina | “Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief] until there came to them clear evidence.” |
رَسُولٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتۡلُواْ صُحُفٗا مُّطَهَّرَةٗ | Rasūlum minallāhi yatlū ṣuḥufam muṭahhara | “A messenger from Allah, reciting purified scriptures.” |
فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ | Fīhā kutubun qayyimah | “Within which are correct writings.” |
وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَةُ | Wa mā tafarraqa-lladhina ūtū-l-kitāba illā min baʿdi mā jā’athumu-l-bayyina | “Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence.” |
وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓاْ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤۡتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلۡقَيِّمَةِ | Wa māa umirū illā liyaʿbudū-llāha mukhliṣīna lahud-dīna ḥunafā’a wa yuqīmūṣ-ṣalāta wa yu’tū-z-zakāt wa dhālika dīnu-l-qayyimah | “And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion.” |
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمۡ شَرُّ ٱلۡبَرِيَّةِ | Inna-lladhina kafarū min ahli-l-kitābi wal-mushrikīna fī nāri jahannama khālidīna fīhā, ulā’ika hum sharru-l-bariyya | “Indeed, those who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures.” |
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمۡ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡبَرِيَّةِ | Inna-lladhina āmanū wa ʿamilū-ṣ-ṣāliḥāti ulā’ika hum khayru-l-bariyya | “Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds – those are the best of creatures.” |
جَزَآؤُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ جَنَّـٰتُ عَدۡنٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدٗاۖ رَّضِيَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنۡ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ | Jazāa’uhum ʿinda rabbihim jannātu ʿadnin tajrī min taḥtihā-l-anhāru khālidīna fīhāa abada, raḍiya-llāhu ʿanhum wa raḍū ʿanhu, dhālika liman khashiya rabbah | “Their reward with their Lord will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord.” |

Hadith–Surah Al-Bayyina
Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Ubayy bin Ka’b (May Allah be pleased with him), “Allah (SWT) has ordered me to recite to you Surat-Al-Baiyyinah (98): ’Those who disbelieve …”
Ubayy (May Allah be pleased with him) asked, “Did He name me?” Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) replied in the affirmative. Whereupon Ubayy (May Allah be pleased with him) began to weep.
When to Say:
Surah Al-Bayyina can be recited at any time, but according to the hadith, it is especially beneficial to recite it both during the day and at night for protection and rewards.
Surah Al-Bayyina emphasizes the clear proof of truth brought by the Prophet ﷺ, the rejection of falsehood, and the importance of worship, prayer, and charity. Regular recitation brings spiritual rewards, protection, and blessings from Allah.
