Alam Tara Surah PDF-Surah Al-Fil Transliteration

Surah Al-Fil (Alam Tara Surah) is the 105th Surah of the Qur’an. It is titled in English “The Elephant” and is composed of 5 verses.

Surah Al-Fil was revealed in Mecca during the early days of Prophet Muhammad’s (ﷺ) mission. It tells the story of Abraha’s failed attempt to destroy the Kaaba, which took place in the Year of the Elephant (570 CE). Allah sent birds to protect the Kaaba, not due to the Quraysh’s status, but to preserve the holy site for Islam’s final message.

Arabic	Transliteration	Translation
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ	*Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem*	*In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.*
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْفِيلِ	*Alam tara kaifa fa’ala rabbuka bi as haabil feel*	*Have you (O Muhammad) not seen how your Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant?*
أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍ	*Alam yaj’al kaidahum fee tadleel*	*Did He not make their plot go astray?*
وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ	*Wa arsala ‘alaihim tayran abaabeel*	*And He sent against them birds, in flocks,*
تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ	*Tarmeehim bihijaaratim min sijjeel*	*Striking them with stones of baked clay.*
فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍۢ مَّأْكُولٍۢ	*Faja ‘alahum ka’asfim m’akool*	*Made them like eaten straw.*
