Dua for Protection Against Bad Dreams
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ هَذِهِ الرُّؤْيَا
Audhu billahi minash Shaytanir rajeem wa min sharri hathihir ru’yaa.
“I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan and from the evil of this dream.”
Abu Salama reported that he was perturbed by bad dreams and had a fever, which led him to seek advice. Abu Qatada mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said,
“A good vision comes from Allah, and a bad dream (hulm) from the devil. When one of you sees a bad dream, spit to your left side thrice and seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and it will not harm you.”
