Strengthening one’s Imaan (faith) is a fundamental aspect of a Muslim’s spiritual journey. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Mentions the importance of not only reciting the Quran but also acting upon its teachings.
Dua for Strengthening Imaan in Arabic|PDF
Narrated Abu Musa:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The example of a believer who recites the Qur’an and acts on it, like a citron which tastes nice and smells nice. And the example of a believer who does not recite the Qur’an but acts on it, is like a date which tastes good but has no smell. And the example of a hypocrite who recites the Qur’an is like a Raihana (sweet basil) which smells good but tastes bitter And the example of a hypocrite who does not recite the Qur’an is like a colocynth which tastes bitter and has a bad smell.”
Imaan (إِيمَان) is an Arabic word that means “faith,” “belief,” or “recognition” in Islam. It is rooted in the belief in the six articles of faith (arkān al-īmān):
- • Belief in Allah, the only God
- • Belief in the angels
- • Belief in the holy books
- • Belief in the prophets
- • Belief in the day of judgment
- • Belief in God’s predestination
