The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah hold immense significance in the Islamic calendar.

Many of us may not fully appreciate the immense significance of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) described these days as the greatest ten days of the entire year, even greater than the days of Ramadan!

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)

To help you make the most of these exceptional days, we’re sharing some of the most important Dhul Hijjah duas. These Hajj duas are perfect for your spiritual journey and can be easily saved in a convenient Hajj duas PDF.

Hajj duas pdf

1. Dua when entering the state of Ihram for Umrah:

Arabic: اللهم إني أريد العمرة؛ فيسرها لي وتقبلها مني.

Transliteration: Allahumma innee uridul ‘umrah; fayassir haa li wa taqabbalaha minnee.

Translation: O Allah! I intend to perform Umrah. Make it easy for me and accept it.

2. Dua upon Arrival:

Arabic: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

Transliteration: A’udhu bikalimatillahi al-tammati min sharri ma khalaq.

Translation: I seek refuge in Allah’s perfect words from every evil that has been created.

3. Dua at the Beginning of Hajj:

Arabic: 

أَبْدَأُ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللهُ بِهِ. لَا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَر. لَا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ،  لَهُ المُلْكُ وَلَهُ الحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ. لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ، وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ.

Transliteration: Abda’u bima bada’ Allahu bihi. La ilaha illa Allah wa Allahu akbar. La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu al-mulku wa lahu al-hamdu wahuwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer. La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu, anjaza wa’dahu, wa nasara ‘abdahu, wa hazama al-ahzaba wahdahu.

Translation: I begin with what Allah began with. Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without a partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, aided His Servant, and single-handedly defeated the allies

 4. Dua Upon First Seeing the Kaaba:

اللهم زد هذا البيت تشريفًا وتعظيمًا، وتكريمًا، ومحبةً، وزد من شرفهوكرمه، ممن حجه أو اعتمره تشريفًا وتكريمًا وتعظيمًا وبرًا.

Transliteration: Allahumma zid hadha al-bayta tashreefan wata’dheeman, watakreeman, wamuhabbatan, wazid man sharrafahu wakaramahu, mimman hajjahu awi’tamarahu tashreefan watakreeman wata’dheeman wabirran.

Translation: O Allah, increase the honor, reverence, respect, and love for this house. Increase its honor and nobility for those who perform Hajj or Umrah, with honor, respect, reverence, and goodness.

5.Talbiyah:

Arabic:

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ. 

Transliteration: Labbaika Allahumma labbaik, labbaika la shareeka laka labbaik, innal hamda wanne’matah laka wal mulk, la shareeka laka.

Translation: Here I am, O Allah! Here I am; Here I am, there is no partner unto You, Here I am; all praise and favors and sovereignty belong to You, there is no partner unto You.

6. Starting Tawaf at Hijr-al-Aswad:

Arabic:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُمَّ إِيمَانًا بِكَ وَتَصْدِيقًا بِكِتَابِكَ وَوَفَاءً بِعَهْدِكَ وَاتِّبَاعًا لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Transliteration: Bismillah Allahu Akbar, Allahumma imaanan bika wa tasdeeqan bikitaabika wa wafaa’an bi’ahdika wa ittibaa’an li sunnati nabiyyika salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.

Translation: Bismillah Allahu Akbar, Allahumma imaanan bika wa tasdeeqan bikitaabika wa wafaa’an bi’ahdika wa ittibaa’an li sunnati nabiyyika salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.

Additional Dua for Tawaf:

Arabic:

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ حَجًّا مَبْرُورًا وَذَنْبًا مَغْفُورًا، وَسَعْيًا مَشْكُورًا.

Transliteration:Allahumma ija’lhu hajjan mabrooran wa dhanban maghfooran, wa sa’yan mashkooran.

Translation: O Allah, may my Hajj be accepted, my sins forgiven, and my effort rewarded.

7. Dua During Sa’i:

Arabic:

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ.

Transliteration: Rabbighfir warham watub ‘alayya innaka antat-Tawwabur-Raheem.

Translation: O my Lord, forgive me, have mercy on me, and accept my repentance.

8.Dua at Arafat:

Arabic:

لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.

Transliteration: Laa ilaaha ill-allaahu, waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer.

Translation: There is no God but Allah alone, Who has no partner, to whom dominion belongs, to whom praise is due, and who has power over everything.

What is the dhikr for Hajj?

During the days of Hajj, it is highly recommended to engage in constant remembrance of Allah (dhikr), particularly by reciting the following phrases:

Takbeer:

  • Arabic: اللَّهُ عَكْبُرُ
  • Transliteration: Allahu Akbar
  • Translation: Allah is the Greatest

Tahmeed (تحميد):

  • Arabic: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ
  • Transliteration: Alhamdulillah
  • Translation: All praise is due to Allah

Tahlīl:

  • Arabic: لَا إِلٰهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
  • Transliteration: La ilaha illa Allah
  • Translation: There is no god but Allah

Tasbeeh (تسبیح):

  • Arabic: سُبْحَانِ اللَّهِ
  • Transliteration: SubhanAllah
  • Translation: Glory be to Allah

Combined Dhikr

Often, these phrases are combined in a single dhikr for greater impact:

  • Arabic:
    على على الله على الله على الله ع ع ك بر على ع ك بر علا لحمد لحمد حمدد حمدد
  • Transliteration:
    Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahil-hamd.
  • Translation:
    Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no god but Allah. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and all praise is due to Allah.

Practice Tips


Constant Remembrance: Try to keep your tongue moist with these phrases as often as possible during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, especially while at home, heading into different activities, or during quiet moments.
During Rituals: Recite these dhikr while performing various Hajj rituals, such as during Tawaf (circling the Kaaba), Sa’i (walking between Safa and Marwah), and while on Arafat.
