Grant me enough of what You make lawful so that I may dispense with what You make unlawful, and enable me by Your Grace to dispense with all but You.اے اللہ! مجھے اپنے حلال سے اتنا کافی کر دے کہ میں تیرے حرام سے بچ سکوں اور مجھے اپنے فضل سے اتنا غنی کر دے کہ مجھے تیرے سوا کسی کا محتاج نہ ہونا پڑے۔

Hadith

Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) taught this dua to Ali (RA) and encouraged him to recite it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Shall I not teach you a supplication which, if you say, Allah will take care of your debt even if it is as large as a mountain?”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) then recited:

اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلاَلِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

(Jami` al-Tirmidhi 3563)
