Qiyam UL Layl / Tahajjud ki namaz Dua and Benefits

Qiyam UL Layl /Tahajjud ki namaz Dua

Qiyam ul Layl is a special prayer that we perform at night. It can be prayed any time after the Isha (night) prayer until before the Fajr (dawn) prayer. It’s not mandatory, but it’s a good way to get closer to Allah and earn extra rewards.

The most common type of Qiyam ul-Layl is Tahajjud, which is prayed after waking up from sleep during the night. Many Muslims also pray it during Ramadan, especially in the last third of the night.

A minimum 2 to 12 rakah can be prayed or as much as you can but the minimum is 2 rakah.

Abu Umamah [may Allah be pleased with him] said:

“Amr bin `Abasah reported to me that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: “The closest that the Lord is to a worshipper is during the last part of the night, so if you are able to be of those who remember Allah in that hour, then do so.”

Prayer offered in the middle of the night and the most excellent fast after (fasting) in the month of Ramadan is the fast in God’s month al-Muharram.

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Salam said:

“When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Al-Madinah, the people rushed towards him and it was said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come!’ I came along with the people to see him, and when I looked at the face of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), I realized that his face was not the face of a liar. The first thing he said was: “O people, spread (the greeting of) Salam, offer food to people and pray at night when people are sleeping, you will enter Paradise in peace.”

Sunan Ibn Majah 1334

How to perform Qiyam UL Layl /Tahajjud ki namaz

Abdullah ibn Umar narrated that Muhammad said:

“Salatul Layl (Night Prayer, i.e. Tahajjud) is offered as two rak’at followed by two rak’at and (so on) and if anyone is afraid of the approaching dawn (Fajr prayer) he should pray one rak’at and this will be a Witr for all the rak’at which he has prayed before.”

SahihBukhari 990

What is Tahajjud?

Tahajjud means waking up during the night after sleeping and then offering prayers. It can be prayed anytime after Isha (night prayer) but before Fajr (the obligatory dawn prayer) and even before or after Imsak (the time when fasting begins).

Queries

What is the fact about Tahajjud?

Tahajjud is generally regarded as sunnah (tradition) and not farḍ (obligation). Many verses in the Qurʾān encourage these nightly recitations and other verses that indicate such practices should remain “a voluntary effort” (17:79).

Can Tahajjud change destiny?

yes, Tahajjud does work. But do pray your 5 obligatory prayers along with it, if you want your dua to be accepted.

Is Tahajjud a miracle?

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: “The two rakats of Tahajjud are better than this world and all that it contains.” Tahajjud is a miraculous prayer. It is the prayer in which the person feels the closest to ALLAH (SWT).
