Reciting specific Duas before sleep helps to seek Allah’s protection from Evil, ensures a peaceful sleep, and is a means of spiritual connection.

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِAllahu laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huwal-Hayyul-QayyoomAllah! There is no deity except He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer. Sunnahs to Follow While Sleeping

 Perform Wudu (Ablution): Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged performing wudu before sleep.

•   Dust off the bed: The Prophet (PBUH) would dust the bed three times with his garment before lying down.

•   Sleep on the right side: The Prophet (PBUH) advised lying on the right side when going to bed.

•   Place the right hand under the cheek: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to place his right hand under his cheek while sleeping.

•   Recite specific duas: Ayat al-Kursi, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Naas for protection.

•   Avoid sleeping on the stomach: The Prophet (PBUH) discouraged this position as it is disliked by Allah.

1.  Protection from harm: Ayat al-Kursi and the last three Surahs (Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Naas) protect you from evil forces like witchcraft, envy, and harmful whispers of jinn and humans.

2.  Seeking Allah’s mercy: Entrust your soul to Allah, asking for His mercy if you pass away during the night.

3.  Peaceful sleep: These duas calm the heart and mind, helping you sleep peacefully, knowing Allah is protecting you.

4.  Forgiveness and protection: Emphasizes repentance and reliance on Allah’s protection.

5.  Strengthening faith: These duas remind you of Allah’s power, increasing your faith before resting.

6.  Repelling evil thoughts: Especially Surah An-Naas helps in guarding against negative thoughts that disturb your peace.

7.  Nightly purification: These supplications purify the soul and strengthen your connection with Allah as you end your day.
