Surah Al Balad Word by Word With English Translation

Surah Al-Balad (Arabic text: البلد) is the 90th chapter of the Qur’an. The surah titled in English means “The City” and it consists of 20 verses.

This chapter focuses on the two choices Muslims have in life: the path of good and the path of evil. Allah reminds us that we have the ability and wisdom to tell right from wrong, and our choices will shape our future. He explains that the right path can be hard and tests our character and self-control.

Following this path means doing things like freeing a slave, feeding someone during a time of great hunger, helping a close orphan, or assisting someone in need. The right path also includes having good qualities, such as being patient and showing kindness and compassion to others.
