Short Note on the Revelation of the Surah

Some commentators believe these verses were revealed when some of the Prophet’s followers neglected small acts of charity, thinking they were unimportant. They also overlooked minor sins. These verses were revealed to encourage even small good deeds and to warn against ignoring small sins.
