Surah Al-Zalzalah (Iza zulzilatil surah) is the 99th chapter of the Qur’an. It is also commonly referred to as Zilzal or Az-Zilzal. The surah, which in English means “The Earthquake,” consists of 8 verses.
This Surah begins with a description of the Day of Judgment, where the Earth will experience a terrible earthquake and “throw up her burdens,” and people will be “separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.” The surah explains that every action, no matter how small, will be shown in detail, with nothing overlooked.

Short Note on the Revelation of the Surah
Some commentators believe these verses were revealed when some of the Prophet’s followers neglected small acts of charity, thinking they were unimportant. They also overlooked minor sins. These verses were revealed to encourage even small good deeds and to warn against ignoring small sins.
