Surah Ash-Shams (The Sun)- Benefits Translation PDF
Surah Ash-Shams (Arabic text: الشمس) is the 91st chapter of the Qur’an. The surah, which in English means “The Sun,” consists of 15 verses.
The first part of the Surah discusses how our happiness or misery depends on our choices. If we make good, pure decisions, we are successful. However, making harmful or corrupt choices ultimately leads to failure and loss.
The second part of Surah tells the story of the people of Thamud, an ancient tribe. They ignored the message of their prophet and disobeyed Allah by killing the special she-camel sent as a sign. This led to their destruction as a punishment for their actions.

We prayed behind that person and he used to make the first two rak’ahs of Zuhr lengthy and the last two shorter, and he would make ‘Asr shorter; in Maghrib he would recite the short Mufassal surahs.
